IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING, ANY ROAD CAN TAKE YOU THERE.

Twenty-six movies, 12 years, over 200 hours watched. Here are some of my favorite movies I’ve laughed, cried, screamed and gasped through my journey of coming to America.

hen I was in grad school I created an movie infographic that housed movies I had seen in a 12 year span, categorized by how they made me feel(color) and their importance(size). The fascinating outcome, was the visual presentation of my personality. The perfect blend or serious, funny. (With my top movies being Avatar and the Goofy movie.) There is a story behind the Goofy movie, ask and I will share.

Thumbs Up for TransAtlantic Cable

It was announced recently that Facbook and Microsoft are teaming up to build a new cable, MAREA, a transatlantic cable, from Northern Virginia to Bilbao, Spain. So clearly I missed a few lessons in my history courses. Because I never really thought about all the telecommunication cables running along the ocean floor connecting me to the rest of the world.

How does one wake up one day and say, " You know what, ,I think it would be a great idea to band some metal and cloth like material together under the ocean so people can communicate with each other!" #nailedit Below is the link to full article of the partnership and the hopes of greatness to come once the project is completed next year, 2017.

Design Identity

Find and do what you love and the rest will fall in place. As always, easier said than done. It took me about 27ish years to stumble and realize design was my love. Once I discovered this love, my desire to be excellent at my craft was instant. My grad school design director once told me, "You're trying to run an Olympic race with Usain Bolt before you've learned how to run". (Well, that's unfortunate) So you're telling me once I know what I want to do and have gone through all this schooling, that it's not just 2 + 2 = 4? That there will be a lifetime of challenges at every turn and design is not just making things pretty. Sounds like a lot of complaining.

I only complain about things I love. And this thing called design is the most frustrating, draining, disappointing, aggy thorn in my side. B U T ... I wouldn't change a thing. Though I'v experienced some of the saddest moments through design, I've also experienced my greatest joys through it as well, and is the single most valuable outlet I have to make a difference in this world. So stop on by from time to time as I learn to run and create inspirational work and highlight others that are doing the same.

Lupus Foundation 2013 Holiday Cards

I wanted to create a thoughtful holiday card that didn't feel mass produced and would mean a lot to those receiving it.

One of the sweet and awesome chapter supporters posted this after she received her card in the mail. Besides loving what I do, it great moments like this that reinforce that love!
